Alnawaim: Bilingual WooCommerce Store

Bilingual e-commerce store for a women's fashion retailer

Client
Khalfan Al Mamari
Platform
WordPress + WooCommerce

We designed and built Alnawaim's online store from scratch. The goal was to give their in-store experience an elegant online home in both English and Arabic. Shoppers can browse curated collections of sandals, heels, flats, sneakers and handbags, pick colors and sizes, and check out smoothly on any device.

  • LiteSpeed Cache
  • Custom theme
  • RTL / bilingual

The challenge

Give a multi-branch women's footwear and handbag retailer an elegant bilingual store that matches the in-store experience. Support English and Arabic with proper RTL, while making variable products (size × color) easy for shoppers and far less painful for the team to manage.

The approach

We built a lightweight custom WordPress theme from a blank starter with no page builder, then layered WooCommerce, TranslatePress, and LiteSpeed Cache into a mobile-first design around the brand's deep burgundy. The shopping journey and an admin color-image tool were redesigned so the catalogue stays beautiful on the front end and efficient in the back office.

What we built

  • Custom storefront

A home page with an auto-playing hero slider, a carousel of featured collections, and a Top Selling section. Also About Us, Collections, Shop, Contact, Sign Up, and Store Locations pages.

  • Full bilingual experience (EN / AR)

Complete Arabic translation and a dedicated right-to-left layout. Arabic typography (GE SS Two) sits alongside Inter for English.

  • Redesigned shopping journey

Custom WooCommerce templates for product pages, category pages, search, cart, checkout, and the full My Account area including orders, addresses, and account details.

  • Color swatches on product cards

Customers can see the available colors of each product before opening it.

  • Admin tool that saves hours

The store team picks a color with a color picker and uploads one image per color. That image is applied to every size variation automatically. Before, the same photo had to be uploaded once for every size (for example, 6 uploads for one color in sizes 36 to 41).

  • Performance tuning

LiteSpeed Cache is set up with rules that keep cart, checkout, and both language versions working correctly while the rest of the site loads fast. Images are served in WebP and fonts are hosted on the site itself.

How it's built

  • Custom WordPress theme, built from a blank starter with no page builder, so the code stays light and fast
  • WooCommerce for the catalog, variable products (size × color), cart, checkout, and customer accounts
  • TranslatePress for English/Arabic translation, plus a custom RTL stylesheet
  • Plain JavaScript, with no jQuery dependency on the front end, for the sliders, carousels, and account interactions
  • LiteSpeed Cache integration written into the theme for speed
  • A responsive, mobile-first design built around the brand's deep burgundy color

Outcomes

  • Live bilingual storefront at alnawaim.com for women's footwear and handbags.
  • Full EN/AR experience with dedicated RTL layout and brand typography.
  • Admin color-image tool that cuts product image uploads by up to 6×.
  • Cart, checkout, and both language versions kept correct under LiteSpeed Cache.
